How are you all spending?

Hi, I’m Lifehack’s NEWS magazine balance. Editor-in-chief ,My nickname is a leader(@acreative00) .

This blog is from Japan.

How far do you look ahead when setting goals?

Are you planning and setting up for your own ability?

I was not good at setting goals, and even if I achieved it, I could not find motivation like burnout, and experienced a lot of setbacks and mistakes.

About sharing information, knowledge, and wisdom to convey this time,

Story of way of thinking to achieve goal.

Under the title, I would like to share it with you based on the actual experience I felt most in my life experience.

Please read to the end!

The goal is to prepare for about two steps “the tip ahead”.

Prepare a few steps on top of your ability up to “the point ahead”.

If you decide only by your own ability, you will not be able to maintain your ambition ahead.

I am satisfied that “I unexpectedly worked well,” and I feel tired of trying to set goals again from there.

Once you finish it, it will be difficult to start again.

Target setting clears the small target of the process as a passing point while preparing “ahead”.

By doing so, your ambition will continue and you will achieve more than you expect.

Achieve small goals little by little and build a successful experience.

When I aimed at Tokyo as a beautician, my goal was to work in a famous beauty salon in places such as Omotesando, Aoyama and Harajuku.

Although job hunting was hard, I was able to find a beauty salon called a famous store in the industry somehow.

However, I was thinking only to the goal of “working in a famous store in Omotesando, Aoyama, Harajuku”, and after achieving the goal, I became a so-called burnout syndrome.

After I actually worked, I couldn’t think of my future goals.

I was satisfied with the fact that I was able to find a job, and I could not maintain my motivation.

Let’s quit the setting that I think is impossible.

I was able to join a well-known store, so I decided to become a top stylist in order to maintain my motivation for success.

But while working in the field, the level is too high,

I thought that it would be difficult to be a top stylist in reality, and I gave up.

Coming out of the countryside, I set my goals too unrealistic from the beginning, and I find myself frustrated in a way that I know about myself.

I lost my confidence and couldn’t believe in the possibilities.

As a result, I quit a well-established store that I did my best in a month.

And I realized how to set goals was very important.

[quads id=1]

Don’t make long-term goals too big.

In setting goals, it is often heard in business documents that it is better to set in the process of long term, medium term and short term.

However, if the long-term goal is set too large, the medium- and short-term goals will generally be difficult to achieve, and eventually the whole process will be broken.

If your motivation is temporarily increased and adrenalin is full, you tend to set goals beyond your ability.

In fact, in the experiment of the psychologist Mr. Aubrey Daniels, the achievement rate was less than 10% when setting too large a target, and there was a result that the motivation was lost and the opposite effect was returned.

A 2011 paper by Duke University states that companies with lower business results want to set larger goals.

Similarly, Harvard Business School does not recommend setting too large a goal.

However, since things need to be stepped up, it is important to have an image that does not extend the swing of the short-term to long-term goals.

Ambiguous goals may be better?

This is a pros and cons.

In the above, I said that the goal should not be too big. This time I will tell you that we will try not to make the goal too specific.

By keeping it ambiguous, we will step up with flexibility according to the occasion.

If you solidify your long-term goals in concrete terms, you will create obsession with the process of achieving them, narrowing your vision and options.

Certainly, it takes too much force to reach the goal, and in many cases it is stressful and often gets away from the essence of the goal.

While I continued to be a cosmetologist, I had a big concrete goal of being on television and taking charge of a lot of entertainers and becoming a famous charismatic cosmetologist, but I was far away from it as I did it. I have repeated the setbacks.

As a result, I lost my confidence without being talented and lost the motivation to continue the hairdresser itself.

Every time I made a small mistake, I was denying myself that I was just this level.

If I thought about it now, I might have been finding another reward as a hairdresser if I thought more at ease.

It’s a sad thing that you don’t work because you set goals that are too specific and too big, and give up what you want to do and your talents.

If you are likely to give up now, it may be better to redouble in on your own and rethink your direction.

Even if you do not give up, it is all right!

[quads id=1]

Let’s concentrate on “what you want to do now”!

There is one specific process you can take to achieve results without setting big goals.

It is about focusing on your passion and what you want to do now.

It is surprisingly simple.

By concentrating on a little by little with every effort, it is possible to find out specifically the next connected problem such as “I want to do better tomorrow than today”, and it is more productive even if it is small.

Ultimately, that accumulation will also lead to the result that was originally set as a too big goal.

The process towards achieving goals and success is plain.

The reason I couldn’t be successful as a cosmetologist was that I had too many dreams and longings in the face-to-face brilliance and made the goal setting bigger, so I couldn’t face the real on the back and couldn’t build on my steady efforts.

Having great goals is great. I have been taught that since I was a child. But sometimes too strong dreams and dreams confuse you with the gap with reality.

Expectations that are more than necessary increase the level of difficulty in life.

If you have something you like or do what you want to do, you should focus on doing everything in a simple, passionate manner, instead of seeking goals and rewards right now!

Let’s move steadily little by little.^o^

[quads id=1]

Find a way to set goals in line with the times.

When I was a child, I was taught, “Let’s have big goals.”

However, as research progresses and the times change, the way of thinking about achieving your goals may change more rationally.

In polar theory, some people think that “it is not necessary to set goals”.

There is still pros and cons to this.

In the case of me, it is a type that fleeed from “fear of when it could not be achieved” and did not set goals in life very much.

In my conclusion, I think that a reasonable goal will grow people.

It is useless if it is too large and it is meaningless if it is too small.

Prepare your goal a few steps ahead of your ability, up to a point ahead of you.

From now on, occupation will change. Naturally, the way you set your goals will also change.

There are various values when it comes to “having goals”.

I think that “the way of setting goals in line with the times” will be the essence.

I hope my story is useful for your reference level.

Up to here for this time.

Thank you for always reading to the end.

May your lifestyle be rich and happy.

Let’s meet again!
